In Friday's league match, the host Mathis Pirates football squad scored a good 22-0 victory over the Palacios Sharks.

The Pirates (3-5) will now prepare for their match against Orange Grove (Orange Grove, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 3A-1 Region IV District 15 match with a 7-1 record. In their last match, Orange Grove overcame Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX), 55-26, in a league battle.
