The Stanton Buffaloes football squad (Stanton, TX), was trounced 48-9 in Friday's league contest with the host Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX)

The Badgers (6-2) will now prepare for their bout against Grape Creek (San Angelo, TX). The Eagles go into the 3A-2 Region I District 4 bout with a 5-4 record. In their last bout, Grape Creek was crushed by Wall (Wall, TX), 48-0, in a league bout.

The Buffaloes now own a 1-7 record. They play next when they host Coahoma for a 3A-2 Region I District 4 bout on Friday, October 31. Stanton will encounter a Bulldogs team coming off a 58-0 league loss to Wall (Wall, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-2.
