Window Rock Fighting Scouts (Fort Defiance, AZ) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they observed their football squad nudge the visiting Monument Valley Mustangs (Kayenta, AZ), 16-12 in a league match.
The Fighting Scouts (2-7) will now prepare for their match against Winslow (Winslow, AZ). The Bulldogs come into the 3A North challenge with a 3-6 record. In their last challenge, Winslow nipped Ganado (Ganado, AZ), 46-45, in a league challenge.
The Mustangs (0-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Chinle (Chinle, AZ). The Wildcats go into the 3A North challenge with a 6-3 record. In their last challenge, Chinle was edged by Page (Page, AZ), 48-0, in a league challenge.
