The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Columbia Wildcats (Columbia, MS) and the host Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS), witnessed Columbia's football squad knock off Lawrence County by a tally of 55-34.

The Wildcats (6-3) will now prepare for their contest against Purvis (Purvis, MS). The Tornadoes enter the 4A Region 7 contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Purvis achieved victory over Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS), 56-47, in a non-league outing.

With the defeat, Lawrence County drops to 4-5 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Forrest County Agricultural (Brooklyn, MS) to clash with the Aggies in a 4A Region 7 outing on Thursday, October 31. The Aggies come into the outing with a record of 4-4. Forrest County Agricultural won 35-14 in their recent league outing against Sumrall (Sumrall, MS)
