The Leake Central Gators (Carthage, MS) football tipped the visiting Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS), 28-21 in Friday's league outing.
The Gators now sport a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they host North Forrest for a non-league outing on Thursday, October 31. Leake Central will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 27-14 league loss to Mize (Mize, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 2-7.
With the defeat, Newton County drops to 3-6 on the campaign. The Cougars host West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS) to clash with the Knights in a 4A Region 4 outing on Thursday, October 31. The Knights come into the outing with a record of 7-3. West Lauderdale won 40-14 in their recent league outing against Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS)
