Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Stevenson Spartans (Livonia, MI) and the visiting Howell Highlanders (Howell, MI), observed Stevenson's volleyball team hold off Howell by a count of 2-1.

The Spartans (19-18) will now prepare for their contest against Canton (Canton, MI). The Cobras enter the non-league contest with a 6-17 record. In their last contest, Canton was tipped by Northville (Northville, MI), 3-0, in a league contest.

The Highlanders now own a 11-18 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Brighton for a Kensington Lakes - West battle on Saturday, October 25. Howell will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Seaholm/Groves (Birmingham, MI). The Bulldogs record now stands at 28-8.
