Saranac Spartans (Saranac, NY) followers went home pleased Saturday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Canton Golden Bears (Canton, NY), 28-27 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Saranac advances its record to 2-6 on the season. The Spartans travel to Saranac Lake (Saranac Lake, NY) to encounter the Red Storm in a Section 7 battle on Saturday, November 9. The Red Storm go into the battle with a record of 4-3. Saranac Lake lost 31-26 in their recent league battle against Plattsburgh (Plattsburgh, NY)

The Golden Bears now own a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Potsdam for a non-league game on Friday, November 1. Canton will battle a Sandstoners team coming off a 36-7 league win over Gouverneur (Gouverneur, NY). The Sandstoners record now stands at 7-0.
