North Carolina High School Football - Corvian Community held off by Mountain Island Charter

October 27, 2023: Charlotte, NC 28269

In Friday's league game, the Mountain Island Charter Raptor (Mt. Holly, NC) football team tipped the host Corvian Community Cardinals (Charlotte, NC), by a final score of 27-21.

The Raptor (7-3) will now prepare for their game against Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Trojans come into the non-league game with a 4-6 record. In their last game, Alleghany was tipped by Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC), 53-0, in a league game.

The Cardinals now hold a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Draughn for a non-league game on Friday, November 3. Corvian Community will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 52-15 league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-2.

Congratulations to #1 Reginald Daniel (overall), #10 Tavarain Blue (offensive), #3 Khiyale Washington (defensive) and #81 Tanner Baxter (special teams) for being selected the Mountain Island Charter Football Players of the Game.
