Arizona High School Football - Independence defeats La Joya Community

October 27, 2023: Avondale, AZ 85323

In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Independence Patriots football squad scored a good 20-7 victory over the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos.

In their next game, the Patriots face the Gila Ridge Hawks (Yuma, AZ) in a 4A Southwest bout, on Friday, November 3. Independence will attempt to move on its 7-2 season record. The Hawks enter the bout with a 1-8 record after their 59-0 non-league loss to Poston Butte (San Tan Valley, AZ).

The Fighting Lobos (2-7) will now prepare for their bout against Seton Catholic (Chandler, AZ). The Sentinels enter the 4A Southwest bout with a 2-7 record. In their last bout, Seton Catholic lost by Sierra Linda (Phoenix, AZ), 35-26, in a league bout.
