Fans at Monday's league contest between the Mount Vernon Bulldogs (Mount Vernon, WA) and the host Blaine Borderites (Blaine, WA), observed Mount Vernon's volleyball team hold off Blaine by a count of 3-2.
The Bulldogs (5-9) will now prepare for their contest against Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA). The Tigers enter the 1A/2A/3A Northwest battle with a 15-12 record. In their last battle, Burlington-Edison was edged by Nooksack Valley (Everson, WA), 3-1, in a league battle.
The Borderites now own a 5-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Oak Harbor for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest battle on Wednesday, October 29. Blaine will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Squalicum (Bellingham, WA). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-11.
