The Basile Bearcats football squad scored 41 points and limited the visiting Merryville Panthers to 12 in the Bearcats league win on Friday.

The Bearcats now possess a 8-1 record. They play next when they travel to East Beauregard for a 1A District 5 battle on Friday, November 4. Basile will play a Trojans squad coming off a 39-6 league win over Hamilton Christian (Lake Charles, LA). The Trojans record now stands at 5-5.

Coming up next, the Panthers play the Gueydan Bears (Gueydan, LA) in a 1A District 5 battle, on Friday, November 4. Merryville will attempt to advance on its 3-6 season record. The Bears go into the battle with a 5-4 record after their 43-7 league loss to Oberlin (Oberlin, LA).
