Father McGivney Catholic Griffins (Glen Carbon, IL) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Griffins face the Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) in a Gateway Metro challenge, on Tuesday, October 4. Father McGivney Catholic will attempt to better on its 12-6 season record. The Explorers enter the challenge with a 12-5 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Columbia (Columbia, IL).

The Warriors now have a 4-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alton for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, October 11.
