Next, the Mavericks confront the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a Southern Carolina 4A challenge, on Wednesday, October 4. Marvin Ridge will attempt to move on its 8-5 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 6-0 league loss to Weddington (Matthews, NC).

The Cougars now possess a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Providence for a Southwestern 4A challenge on Thursday, October 5. Charlotte Catholic will confront a Panthers team coming off a 3-1 league win over East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 5-7.
