Lawson Cardinals (Lawson, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting North Platte Panthers (Dearborn, MO), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 17-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Plattsburg for a Class 2 District 14 challenge on Thursday, October 5. Lawson will face a Tigers squad coming off a 10-2 league win over Lathrop (Lathrop, MO). The Tigers record now stands at 18-4.

With the loss, North Platte falls to 16-7 on the campaign. The Panthers host Penney (Hamilton, MO) to face the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Thursday, October 5. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 8-11. Penney won 14-4 in their recent non-league challenge against East Buchanan (Gower, MO)
