The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the St. John Woodchucks (St. John, ND) and the host North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland] Bearcats (Cando, ND), witnessed St. John's football squad edge North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland] by a tally of 42-40.

The Woodchucks (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette] (Rolla, ND). The Cougars enter the 9-Man Region 4 (9 Man) contest with a 5-2 record. In their last contest, North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette] was nudged by North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] (Walhalla, ND), 54-38, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Bearcats battle the New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock (New Rockford, ND) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, October 8. North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland] will attempt to better on its 0-6 season record. The enter the contest with a 6-0 record after their 70-8 league win over Larimore (Larimore, ND).
