Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI) and the host Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI), observed Prout's volleyball team hold off Portsmouth by a count of 2-1.

The Crusaders (9-3) will now prepare for their contest against Tolman (Pawtucket, RI). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Tolman got by Mt. Pleasant (Providence, RI), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Patriots battle the Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI) in a non-league contest, on Monday, October 7. Portsmouth will attempt to move on its 3-6 season record.
