In Thursday's league outing, the host Coal City Coalers soccer squad scored a tight 6-0 victory over the Reed-Custer Comets.

The Coalers (13-6) will now prepare for their outing against Streator/Woodland (Streator, IL). The Bulldogs go into the Illinois Central Eight outing with a 8-11 record. In their last outing, Streator/Woodland was overwhelmed by East Moline United (East Moline, IL), 7-0, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Comets play the Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Bunnies (Fisher, IL) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, October 5. Reed-Custer will attempt to improve on its 9-8 season record. The Bunnies go into the outing with a 13-3 record after their 7-1 non-league win over Hoopeston (Hoopeston, IL).
