The DeSoto Dragons triumphed over the visiting Perryville Pirates softball squad by a count of 12-2 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Dragons meet the Van Buren Bulldogs (Van Buren, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 5. DeSoto will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 12-2 non-league loss to Doniphan (Doniphan, MO).

The Pirates (2-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Fredericktown (Fredericktown, MO). The Black Cats enter the Class 3 District 1 challenge with a 11-5 record. In their last challenge, Fredericktown overcame St. Pius X (Festus, MO), 13-3, in a non-league challenge.
