Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs (Melrose, WI) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they observed their football squad thwart the host Augusta Beavers (Augusta, WI), 34-6 in a league match.

The Mustangs (5-2) will now prepare for their match against Blair-Taylor (Blair, WI). The Wildcats come into the Dairyland match with a 4-3 record. In their last match, Blair-Taylor defeated Independence/Gilmanton (Independence, WI), 49-12, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Beavers play the Whitehall Norse (Whitehall, WI) in a Dairyland challenge, on Friday, October 10. Augusta will attempt to improve on its 0-7 season record. The Norse come into the test with a 2-5 record after their 39-8 league loss to Pepin/Alma (Pepin, WI).
