The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) and the visiting Chariton Chargers (Chariton, IA), witnessed Van Meter's football squad wallop Chariton by a tally of 49-16.

The Bulldogs (4-2) will now prepare for their bout against Grand View Christian (Des Moines, IA). The Thunder go into the 2A Group 8 bout with a 4-2 record. In their last bout, Grand View Christian smashed Clarinda (Clarinda, IA), 28-17, in a league bout.

The Chargers now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Woodward-Granger for a 2A Group 8 contest on Friday, October 10. Chariton will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 42-7 league win over Clarke (Osceola, IA). The Hawks record now stands at 5-1.
