The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Columbus Catholic Sailors (Waterloo, IA) and the host Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars (Sumner, IA), witnessed Columbus Catholic's football squad knock off Sumner-Fredericksburg by a tally of 39-8.

The Sailors (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against Union (La Porte City, IA). The Knights enter the 1A District 4 bout with a 4-2 record. In their last bout, Union dropped by Hudson (Hudson, IA), 27-18, in a league bout.

The Cougars now own a 1-5 record. They play next when they host Jesup for a 1A District 4 bout on Friday, October 10. Sumner-Fredericksburg will encounter a J-Hawks team coming off a 20-19 league win over Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA). The J-Hawks record now stands at 2-4.
