The Warriors (3-3) will now prepare for their match against Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA). The Bulldogs come into the 5A Group 1 match with a 3-3 record. In their last match, Ottumwa was routed by Northwest (Waukee, IA), 70-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Scarlets play the Iowa City Little Hawks (Iowa City, IA) in a 5A Group 1 challenge, on Friday, October 10. Des Moines East will attempt to improve on its 1-5 season record. The Little Hawks go into the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 56-7 league loss to Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA).
