Union Bears (Big Stone Gap, VA) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the visiting Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA), 42-21 in a league battle.

With the win, Union advances its record to 6-0 on the season. The Bears host Ridgeview (Clintwood, VA) to encounter the Wolfpack in a Mountain battle on Thursday, October 9. The Wolfpack go into the battle with a record of 5-0. Ridgeview won 41-0 in their recent non-league match against Paintsville (Paintsville, KY)

Coming up next, the Blue Devils confront the John Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA) in a Mountain match, on Friday, October 10. Gate City will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Trojans enter the match with a 1-5 record after their 56-14 non-league loss to Lebanon (Lebanon, VA).
