The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Mt. Pleasant Vikings (Mt. Pleasant, PA) and the visiting Greensburg Salem Golden Lions (Greensburg, PA), saw Mt. Pleasant's football team gain a win over Greensburg Salem by a final score of 42-29.

With the win, Mt. Pleasant advances its record to 4-2 on the season. The Vikings travel to Southmoreland (Alverton, PA) to encounter the Scotties in a WPIAL AAA Interstate battle on Friday, October 10. The Scotties go into the battle with a record of 7-0. Southmoreland won 41-0 in their recent league battle against Yough (Herminie, PA)

Coming up next, the Golden Lions confront the Derry Trojans (Derry, PA) in a WPIAL AAA Interstate match, on Friday, October 10. Greensburg Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Trojans enter the match with a 3-4 record after their 56-7 league loss to Elizabeth Forward (Elizabeth, PA).
