Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad smash the visiting Hope Blue Wave (Providence, RI), 32-0 in a league match.

The Sentinels (2-1) will now prepare for their match against North Smithfield (North Smithfield, RI). The Northmen come into the Division IV match with a 4-0 record. In their last match, North Smithfield routed Toll Gate (Warwick, RI), 34-6, in a league match.

In their next game, the Blue Wave play the Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, October 10. Hope will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Chieftains go into the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 40-20 league win over Central Falls (Central Falls, RI).
