Jewell Bluejays (Seaside, OR) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad smash the visiting Mapleton Sailors (Mapleton, OR), 47-13 in a league match.
The Bluejays (1-3) will now prepare for their match against Lewis Academy (Newberg, OR). The Watchmen come into the 1A Special District 2 (6 Man) match with a 2-1 record. In their last match, Lewis Academy was routed by Alsea (Alsea, OR), 41-19, in a league battle.
The Sailors now have a 0-5 record. They play next when they host Falls City for a 1A Special District 2 (6 Man) battle on Friday, October 10. Mapleton will play a Mountaineers team coming off a 47-14 league loss to Eddyville (Eddyville, OR). The Mountaineers record now stands at 1-4.
