Metamora Redbirds (Metamora, IL) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team topple the visiting Pekin Dragons (Pekin, IL), 37-13 in a league match.

The Redbirds (5-1) will now prepare for their match against Limestone (Bartonville, IL). The Rockets enter the Mid-Illini match with a 0-6 record. In their last battle, Limestone was dropped by Morton (Morton, IL), 48-8, in a league battle.

The Dragons now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they host Canton for a Mid-Illini battle on Friday, October 10. Pekin will play a Little Giants team coming off a 56-21 league loss to Dunlap (Dunlap, IL). The Little Giants record now stands at 0-6.
