West Virginia High School Football - Midland Trail sneaks past Nicholas County

In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Midland Trail Patriots football team scored a tight 20-19 win over the Nicholas County Grizzlies.

Next, the Patriots meet the James Monroe Mavericks (Lindside, WV) in a non-league test, on Friday, October 17. Midland Trail will attempt to upgrade on its 5-1 season record. The Mavericks come into the test with a 3-1 record after their 38-8 non-league win over Narrows (Narrows, VA).

With the defeat, Nicholas County drops to 2-3 on the campaign. The Grizzlies host Bluefield (Bluefield, WV) to meet the Beavers in a Coalfield AA test on Friday, October 10. The Beavers come into the test with a record of 4-2. Bluefield won 40-21 in their recent non-league test against George Wythe (Wytheville, VA)
