In Friday's league match, the host Rivercrest Colts football squad scored a good 48-38 victory over the Newport Greyhounds.
The Colts (3-2) will now prepare for their battle against Hoxie (Hoxie, AR). The Mustangs go into the 3A Region 3 battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, Hoxie overcame Manila (Manila, AR), 13-6, in a league battle.
The Greyhounds now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Osceola for a 3A Region 3 match on Friday, October 10. Newport will face a Seminoles team coming off a 48-20 league loss to Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR). The Seminoles record now stands at 1-4.
