Fans at Friday's league contest between the San Mateo Bearcats (San Mateo, CA) and the visiting Terra Nova Tigers (Pacifica, CA), observed San Mateo's volleyball team top Terra Nova by a count of 2-0.

The Bearcats (5-0) will now prepare for their contest against Westmoor (Daly City, CA). The Rams go into the battle with a 6-9 record. In their last battle, Westmoor was defeated by Jefferson (Daly City, CA), 2-0, in a league battle.

The Tigers now own a 3-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Immaculate Conception for a non-league battle on Saturday, October 4. Terra Nova will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Summit Shasta (Daly City, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 0-4.
