Southern Lab Kittens (Baton Rouge, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they observed their volleyball team hold off the visiting A.J. Ellender Patriots (Houma, LA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Kittens (14-14) will now prepare for their challenge against De La Salle (New Orleans, LA). The Cavalier enter the non-league challenge with a 5-9 record. In their last challenge, De La Salle was tipped by Belle Chasse (Belle Chasse, LA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Patriots face the St. John Eagles (Plaquemine, LA) in a non-league test, on Saturday, October 4. A.J. Ellender will attempt to improve on its 13-11 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 6-11 record after their 3-0 league win over Family Christian (Baton Rouge, LA).
