In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Luverne Cardinals.
The Knights (21-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (Kerkhoven, MN). The Fighting Saints come into the non-league challenge with a 5-9 record. In their last challenge, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg was nudged by Central Minnesota Christian (Prinsburg, MN), 3-0, in a league challenge.
Next, the Cardinals meet the Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg Fighting Saints (Kerkhoven, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, October 3. Luverne will attempt to upgrade on its 6-10 season record. The Fighting Saints come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 3-0 league loss to MACCRAY (Clara City, MN).
