The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Menendez Falcons (St. Augustine, FL) and the host Stanton Blue Devils (Jacksonville, FL), observed Menendez's volleyball team hold off Stanton by a tally of 2-1.
The Falcons (10-9) will now prepare for their contest against University Christian (Jacksonville, FL). The Christians enter the non-league contest with a 8-10 record. In their last contest, University Christian got by San Jose Prep (Jacksonville, FL), 3-0, in a league contest.
Next, the Blue Devils meet the Buchholz Bobcats (Gainesville, FL) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, October 4. Stanton will attempt to improve on its 9-8 season record. The Bobcats go into the test with a 11-5 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Gainesville (Gainesville, FL).
