Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX) followers went home pleased Thursday as they saw their football team nip the host Lopez Lobos (Brownsville, TX), 33-28 in a league battle.

With the win, Pace advances its record to 4-5 on the season. The Vikings host Mercedes (Mercedes, TX) to confront the Tigers in a 5A-2 Region IV District 16 match on Friday, November 7. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 9-0. Mercedes won 69-0 in their recent league match against Porter (Brownsville, TX)

Coming up next, the Lobos confront the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets (Edcouch, TX) in a 5A-2 Region IV District 16 match, on Friday, November 7. Lopez will attempt to advance on its 4-5 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the battle with a 5-4 record after their 27-17 league win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest (Pharr, TX).
