Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL) fans were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans confront the Athens/Greenview/PORTA/Illini Central Warriors (Athens, IL) in a Sangamo challenge, on Wednesday, October 5. Olympia will attempt to better on its 11-10 season record. The Warriors enter the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 3-0 league loss to Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL).

The Grey Ghosts now have a 3-15 record.
