The Basalt Longhorns softball team scored 16 runs and limited the host Eagle Valley Devils to 9 in the Longhorns non-league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Basalt moves its record to 11-5 on the year. The Longhorns travel to Montezuma-Cortez (Cortez, CO) to play the Panthers in a 3A Western Slope game on Thursday, October 6. The Panthers come into the game with a record of 13-4. Montezuma-Cortez lost 8-6 in their recent league game against Delta (Delta, CO)

In their next game, the Devils play the Palisade Bulldogs (Palisade, CO) in a 4A Western Slope game, on Wednesday, October 5. Eagle Valley will attempt to move on its 10-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the game with a 17-4 record after their 12-5 non-league win over Montezuma-Cortez (Cortez, CO).
