Coming up next, the Spartans meet the Lebanon Warriors (Lebanon, OH) in a Eastern Cincinnati match, on Friday, October 11. Turpin will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Warriors come into the match with a 4-3 record after their 22-16 league win over Milford (Milford, OH).
First Quarter
The Raptors won the coin toss and chose to defer possession to the second half. On their first drive, the Spartan offense looked promising but ultimately stalled out shy of midfield and punted the ball to Anderson. A long run by senior Durrell Turner moved the ball out across midfield, and with 8:24 remaining in the first quarter, senior Justice Burnam connected with Caden Piening for a 38-yard Raptor touchdown. Lucas Callahan's PAT was good to give Anderson a 7-0 lead. Turpin's ensuing drive resulted in another punt, and the Anderson offense wasted little time in scoring as Burnam connected once more with Piening on a lunging catch in the back of the end zone for a 41-yard score. Callahan's kick made it 14-0 Raptors. The Spartans were able to answer on their next drive when Devan Nigam found senior Mickey Abbatiello for a 56-yard touchdown, but Anderson also rose to occasion as Durrell Turner ran for a 10-yard Raptor touchdown to extend the lead back to two scores.
Second Quarter
Turpin's ensuing drive stalled out once more, and the Raptors were once again quick to score on offense thanks to an 81-yard rushing touchdown for Durrell Turner, his second TD of the night. Callahan's successful extra point made it 28-7. With 4:35 left in the half, Turner once again found the end zone (this time from two yards out) to extend Anderson's lead. Callahan made his fifth PAT of the night. A little over a minute later, Burnam threw to Caden Piening for a 33-yard score, the duo's third hookup of the night, to give the Raptors a comfortable 42-7 lead. With 1:13 until halftime, Anderson senior Alex Stanyard forced a Devan Nigam fumble and returned 45 yards to the house for yet another Raptor score. The game entered halftime with Anderson ahead 49-7.
Third Quarter
The third quarter began with a running clock and Anderson possession, but a Raptor fumble just two minutes into the quarter gave the Spartans the ball back. The Anderson defense forced Turpin to punt, and the Raptors answered on their next drive as Burnam connected with Trace Jallick for a 37-yard touchdown. Lucas Callahan made his eighth extra point of the night to extend Anderson's lead to 49 at 56-7. The Spartans ended the third quarter with possession but still trailed big entering the fourth quarter.
Fourth Quarter
A long pass to open the quarter put Turpin just outside the red zone to begin the fourth. With just over five minutes remaining in the game, Nigam found junior Evan Overholser for a Spartan touchdown to close the gap to 56-13. Addi Braun's extra point try was no good, and the score held. Turpin ended up forcing another Anderson fumble on the last play of the game, but the Raptors emerged from Week 7 still undefeated with a 56-13 win over the Spartans.
