In Friday's non-league game, the Myrtle Hawks (Myrtle, MS) football team were victorious over the visiting Bruce Trojans (Bruce, MS), by a tally of 42-28.

In their next game, the Hawks face the Ashland Blue Devils (Ashland, MS) in a 1A Region 2 game, on Friday, October 18. Myrtle will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record.

The Trojans (1-5) will now prepare for their game against Hatley (Amory, MS). The Tigers enter the non-league game with a 4-2 record. In their last game, Hatley ran past Tupelo Christian Prep (Belden, MS), 44-3, in a non-league game.
