The Deming Wildcats (Deming, NM) football were winner over the visiting Goddard Rockets (Roswell, NM), 39-14 in Friday's league outing.
The Wildcats now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Santa Teresa for a 5A District 2 outing on Thursday, October 17. Deming will clash with a Desert Warriors squad coming off a 57-0 league loss to Artesia (Artesia, NM). The Desert Warriors record now stands at 1-6.
With the defeat, Goddard drops to 2-5 on the campaign. The Rockets host Mayfield (Las Cruces, NM) to clash with the Trojans in a 5A District 2 outing on Friday, October 18. The Trojans come into the outing with a record of 3-4. Mayfield won 50-49 in their recent league outing against Lovington (Lovington, NM)
