Port Neches-Groves Indians (Port Neches, TX) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team nip the host Huntsville Hornets (Huntsville, TX), 24-21 in a league battle.

With the win, Port Neches-Groves advances its record to 5-0 on the season. The Indians host Splendora (Splendora, TX) to encounter the Wildcats in a 5A-2 Region II District 8 battle on Friday, October 11. The Wildcats go into the battle with a record of 2-3. Splendora lost 24-21 in their recent league battle against West Fork (Kingwood, TX)

The Hornets now own a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Montgomery for a 5A-2 Region II District 8 battle on Friday, October 11. Huntsville will encounter a Bears team coming off a 46-14 league win over Lake Creek (Montgomery, TX). The Bears record now stands at 5-0.
