In Friday's league match, the host Valentine football squad scored a good 45-26 triumph over the Mitchell Tigers.

The (4-2) will now prepare for their match against Amherst (Amherst, NE). The Broncos come into the C2 District 6 match with a 4-2 record. In their last match, Amherst defeated Hershey (Hershey, NE), 25-24, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Tigers confront the Kearney Catholic Stars (Kearney, NE) in a C2 District 6 match, on Friday, October 11. Mitchell will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Stars come into the match with a 6-0 record after their 40-16 league win over Gordon-Rushville (Gordon, NE).
