In Friday's league game, the Rivercrest Colts (Wilson, AR) football team edged the host Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), by a tally of 48-44.

In their next game, the Colts face the Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR) in a 3A Region 3 game, on Friday, October 11. Rivercrest will attempt to better on its 5-0 season record. The Mustangs enter the game with a 2-3 record after their 32-31 league win over Manila (Manila, AR).
