The South Laurel Cardinals were victorious over the visiting North Laurel Jaguars football team by a score of 23-7 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Cardinals face the Harlan County Black Bears (Harlan, KY) in a 5A District 8 challenge, on Friday, October 11. South Laurel will attempt to improve on its 4-2 season record. The Black Bears enter the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 27-12 league loss to Southwestern (Somerset, KY).

The Jaguars (2-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Pulaski County (Somerset, KY). The Maroons enter the 5A District 8 challenge with a 3-3 record. In their last challenge, Pulaski County fell by Madison Central (Richmond, KY), 28-24, in a non-league challenge.
