Washburn Rural Blues (Topeka, KS) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Topeka Trojans (Topeka, KS), 49-21 in a league battle.

With the win, Washburn Rural improves its record to 2-3 on the season. The Blues host Emporia (Emporia, KS) to play the Spartans in a Centennial battle on Friday, October 11. The Spartans go into the battle with a record of 0-5. Emporia lost 59-0 in their recent league battle against Manhattan (Manhattan, KS)

The Trojans now have a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to Junction City for a Centennial battle on Friday, October 11. Topeka will play a Bluejays team coming off a 27-17 non-league loss to Hays (Hays, KS). The Bluejays record now stands at 1-4.
