Fans at Friday's non-league battle between the Apex Cougars (Apex, NC) and the visiting Willow Spring Storm (Fuquay-Varina, NC), saw Apex's soccer squad hold off Willow Spring by a count of 1-0.

The Cougars (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against Green Level (Cary, NC). The Gators enter the Southwest Wake 4A battle with a 6-5 record. In their last battle, Green Level Middle Creek (Apex, NC), 2-2, in a league battle.

Next up, the Storm confront the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs (Raleigh, NC) in a Greater Neuse River 4A battle, on Monday, October 7. Willow Spring will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Bulldogs enter the battle with a 4-4 record after their 2-1 league win over South Garner (Garner, NC).
