In Friday's league outing, the visiting Thornton Academy Trojans soccer squad scored a tight 5-0 victory over the Sanford Spartans.

The Trojans (2-6) will now prepare for their outing against Gorham (Gorham, ME). The Rams go into the Class A - South outing with a 6-5 record. In their last outing, Gorham got by Westbrook (Westbrook, ME), 2-0, in a league outing.

Next up, the Spartans confront the South Portland Red Riots (South Portland, ME) in a Class A - South outing, on Wednesday, October 9. Sanford will attempt to improve on its 0-9 season record. The Red Riots go into the outing with a 7-7 record after their 3-1 league loss to Deering (Portland, ME).
