In Saturday's non-league outing, the visiting Highland Bulldogs soccer squad scored a tight 4-2 victory over the Mt. Vernon Rams.

The Bulldogs (15-5) will now prepare for their outing against Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL). The Eagles go into the Mississippi Valley outing with a 4-12 record. In their last test, Civic Memorial edged Breese Central (Breese, IL), 3-1, in a non-league test.

The Rams now sport a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carterville for a non-league test on Wednesday, October 8. Mt. Vernon will clash with a Lions team coming off a 5-0 non-league win over Centralia (Centralia, IL). The Lions record now stands at 8-5.
