Fans at Saturday's league battle between the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts (Chillicothe, IL) and the host Monticello Sages (Monticello, IL), saw Illinois Valley Central's soccer squad triumph over Monticello by a score of 7-2.

The Grey Ghosts (11-6) will now prepare for their battle against Rantoul (Rantoul, IL). The Eagles enter the Illini Prairie battle with a 6-11 record. In their last battle, Rantoul tipped First Baptist Christian (Danville, IL), 4-2, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Sages confront the Cornerstone Christian Cyclones (Bloomington, IL) in a non-league test, on Monday, October 6. Monticello will attempt to move on its 5-14 season record. The Cyclones come into the test with a 5-12 record after their 7-0 non-league loss to Peoria Christian (Peoria, IL).
