Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL) fans went home in high spirits Saturday as they observed their soccer squad triumph over the host Marion Wildcats (Marion, IL), 7-0 in a non-league outing.

The Wildcats (15-2) will now prepare for their outing against East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL). The Oilers go into the Cahokia (Mississippi Division) test with a 1-13 record. In their last test, East Alton-Wood River was overwhelmed by Roxana (Roxana, IL), 5-0, in a league test.

The Wildcats now have a 4-12 record. They take the field next when they host Carbondale for a South Seven test on Tuesday, October 7. Marion will clash with a Terriers team coming off a 7-0 league win over Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL). The Terriers record now stands at 13-1.
