Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Burke Cougars (Burke, SD) and the host Alcester-Hudson Cubs (Alcester, SD), observed Burke's volleyball team top Alcester-Hudson by a count of 2-0.

The Cougars (21-2) will now prepare for their contest against Centerville (Centerville, SD). The Tornadoes go into the non-league battle with a 8-10 record. In their last battle, Centerville dropped by Irene/Wakonda (Irene, SD), 3-2, in a league battle.

The Cubs now own a 5-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Irene/Wakonda for a B Region 4 battle on Tuesday, October 14.
